Hi, I’m Don Dunn – professional handyman and owner of California Sun Handyman. We offer Handyman & Landscaping Services helping busy home-owners with home repairs, maintenance and yard work.
Whether you need a faucet replaced, a ceiling fan or TV hung, or just random repairs done around the house – I have a wide range of skills and I’d be happy to help you. I also do Landscaping and Yard Maintenance.

My story
I’m not your typical handyman – I have high standards, own all the right tools and love working with my hands.
Several years ago I had a career as an expert computer projects engineer/consultant. I would fly on short notice (2 hours!) to any spot in the USA to complete projects that were falling behind. I was very good at what I did.
The pay was great, but my quality of life suffered. Often I would work 127 hours a week! What else might I do to earn a living?
My father grew up in rural Nebraska where the work ethic was when you work for someone, you work hard the whole time you are there. He was a heavy-duty diesel mechanic with a farmer’s upbringing. He taught us kids all the skills he knew for both handyman and automotive.
I had always enjoyed working with my hands. Along with my computer career path I maintained several rental properties and several of my own homes. I did all the handyman and many construction tasks myself.
I enjoy handyman work and I wanted a hands-on job. I know how to make sure a job is done right. I also know how to estimate and manage projects. I would still be responsible to the customer and could still enjoy being a ‘hero’ who comes through on-time and under budget.
So….I became a handyman. I appreciate the positive changes that this move brought to my life. I take pride in my work. I smile a lot more now.
